TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING CITY ASSAULT

Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault in the city last night.

The incident involving a woman in her twenties took place in a laneway off Merchants road, at approximately 4am.

The men, both aged in their late 20s, were arrested under section 4 of the criminal justice act and are being questioned at Mill Street Garda station.

A technical examination of the scene was completed earlier today.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact the incident room at Mill Street Garda station on 091 538 000.
