Turn play farewell show Ð six years later
Date Published: 13-Dec-2012
Ollie Cole and Irish indie stalwarts Turn take to the road one for last time this month following their recent well received set at Electric Picnic. They will play the Róisín Dubh on Thursday, December 20, as part of a four-night farewell tour of Ireland.
The band responsible for guitar driven gems like Facedown, Summer Song, Another Year Over, and Beeswax return to their old stomping grounds to play music from the three albums they released during their eight-year career in the late nineties/early noughties.
Turn formed in late1999 and quickly established themselves as a formidable force on the live music scene. Within a month of forming they signed to Infectious Records in London, and released their debut album, Antisocial to widespread acclaim. They followed up with two more top-10 albums and a string of EPs and mini-albums. Since they broke up, Ollie Cole released his solo album, We Albatri and is currently working on a new release.
When Turn broke up in 2006 they promised a final farewell tour and, six years later they have come good on that pledge. One of this country’s hardest working bands during their heyday, Turn have promised to follow-up their pounding set at Electric Picnic with a fitting send off for fans.
Doors for their Galway show are 9pm and tickets are €14/€12 members.
