TURFCUTTERS SIGN TAKEN ON EVE OF CLONMOYLAN UNVEILING

ON the eve of the unveiling of a sign, marking last June’s stand-off involving members of the Barroughter & Clonmoylan Bogs Action Group, the metal road sign disappeared.

The unveiling of the sign was set for today at 11 am (Saturday) on the road at Clonmoylan but the metal sign was taken from it’s moorings overnight.

The Gardai in Portumna have been notified and Dermot Moran of the turfcutters group says, that while the do not know who took the sign, it was very disappointing for those who turned up for today’s unveiling ceremony.
