Turf-cutter ‘siege’ at Killimor bog

A stand-off involving around 100 people and Gardai took place at a bog near Killimor this evening.

The ‘siege’ occurred when Gardai stopped a machine driver who had been cutting turf at Ardraigue bog near Killimor.

Around 100 locals then blocked access to the bog.
