TUR UISCE RESIDENTS RELIEVED AS SCHOOL ACCESS ROW FINALLY RESOLVED
Date Published: 09-Oct-2012
The long running dispute between residents in Tur Uisce and the city council over access to the planned primary and secondary schools in Doughiska has been resolved
Last night councillors voted unanimously in favour of altering the city development plan to allow recreation and amenity land to be used as the access to the school
Up to now the plan was for the access road to go through a green area in the Tur Uisce estate, causing great distress to the residents
Cllr Colette Connolly, a member of the city VEC which was also lobbied by the residents, says changing the plan was the lesser of two evils
