Hyundai Ireland is celebrating confirmation that the new Hyundai Tucson has regained its position as Ireland’s best-selling car.

Proving an instant hit since its arrival in December, the company says sales in January show the new Hyundai Tucson with a clear lead ahead of the second placed model.

Diesel remains very popular for buyers of the Tucson at 1,094 units of the total models sold in January but sales of the new Hybrid version is making an impact at 494 units.

“We are delighted to see the Tucson back at number one in the market, key to its success is its striking new design but also the ability of our dealer network to give honest advice to consumers as to the correct engine type for them,” said Stephen Gleeson, managing director at Hyundai Ireland

“Our overall market share performance (2,731 units – 10.84% of the market) is also satisfying given we are still waiting on deliveries of the all-New Santa Fe 7-seat PHEV, as well as supplies of the all new i20.”

Hyundai Ireland can confirm that despite current restrictions, the Hyundai dealer network is providing a full Click & Deliver sales service. For full details on how Click & Deliver works, log on to www.hyundai.ie.
