TUAM TOWN COUNCILLOR TO STAND TRIAL NEXT FEBRUARY FOR SEX CHARGES

A Tuam town councillor is due to stand trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court next year for allegedly sexually abusing a male over 30 years ago.

62 year old Paul O’Grady of Dublin Road, Tuam, an auctioneer and former president of the Vintners’ Federation, denies seven charges of indecent assault on dates between 1974 and 1976.

The case was moved from Galway Circuit Criminal Court last January by Judge Raymond Groarke due to pretrial publicity of the case in both the local and national media.
