Tuam Town Council Manager to retire
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Director of Services for Roads and Transportation with Galway County Council and Tuam Town Council Manager, Frank Gilmore, has announced that he is to retire.
He made the announcement at last night’s meeting of Tuam Town Council.
Council members were taken by surprise when Frank Gilmore announced to the Tuam town board meeting that he would be retiring from the public service early in December.
He has been seen as a fair, honest, hardworking and popular official with both Galway County Council and the Tuam town board and the esteem in which he is held was evident from the tributes immediately paid to him by three council members who have all be Mayors of the town.
Current Mayor Imelda Kelly thanked him for all he had done for Tuam over the years.
The Director of Services said he had enjoyed working to Tuam Town Council for the last number of years and he will be retiring from the public service on December 6th.
