Tuam Town council is calling for a boycott of all Coca Cola products.

Town councillors voted unanimously in favour of the boycott at last evening’s emergency meeting, as a mark of solidarity with the 27 Tuam workers.

It follows Coca Cola’s refusal to recognise a Labour Court Recommendation of a new redundancy package for 130 staff nationwide.

Tuam town councillors are now asking local businesses and customers to refrain from buying coca cola products.

O’Toole’s Supervalu in Bishop Street turned back a coca cola delivery last night.

A public march will take place this Saturday at 2.30 pm starting at the Coca cola depot on the Galway Road and finishing at the town hall.
