Tuam takes decisive action to nurture new jobs and business
A new initiative to nurture the creation of business in the Galway, Mayo and Roscommon region will be launched in Tuam next week.
Business people from the three counties have been invited to a new enterprise centre in Tuam which it is hoped will be occupied by new and existing small industries
The new building was provided by Action Tuam, who have been to the forefront of job creation in the town for more than two decades.
The networking initiative will be addressed by those who promote the establishment of new business initiatives as well as some of the major employers in the region.
It is hoped that the event in the new Beechtree Enterprise Centre in Tuam will attract established businesses in the region as well as those contemplating setting up a new initiative. It takes place next Wednesday at 11.30am.
Guest speakers will include Breda Fox, CEO, Galway County and City Enterprise Board, Tuam native, Ray McGreal, CEO, Western Development Commission, Barry Egan, Regional Director of Enterprise Ireland and John Concannon, Managing Director, JFC Manufacturing in Tuam.
It will coincide with the launch of a competition for the participating business people and the details of this will be announced on the day.
John Fahy of Eventus in Tuam is the Chairman of Action Tuam and he said that they were delighted to host this networking event as part of an initiative called Take Action Business.
This competition has been initiated and organised by the Tuam based enterprise support organisation Action Tuam Ltd., in association with Galway City and County Enterprise Board, Enterprise Ireland and Western Development Commission.
