TUAM PUBLIC MEETING ON CHILDHOOD OBESITY

A free local consultation meeting will take place tonight in Tuam to address the issue of obesity in preschoolers.

CEO Irene Gunning and Cheif operations officer Teresa Heeney of Early Childhood Ireland will speak about a recent survey on obesity in Irish children.

The study by UCC and UCD revealed that 23 per cent of children between one and four are overweight for their age.

The meeting will take place in the Ard Ri House Hotel from 7 to 9 tonight.
