TUAM PIETA HOUSE PLANS DEPENDANT ON FUNDING

Plans to establish a suicide prevention centre in Tuam are still at a very early stage and largely dependent on funding.

That’s according to a spokesperson for Pieta House who says that while talks are taking place, no definite plans have been agreed on.

Pieta house, a centre for prevention of suicide and self harm, already has bases in Dublin and Limerick.

The organisation is keen to open up a centre in the Galway area as it has been inundated with offers of support for such a facility.
