Tuam man pleads guilty to serious assault
A 19-year-old Tuam man pleaded guilty to an assault which has left another man with serious head injuries fighting for his life in hospital.
Shane Byrne, of 2 Chapel Court, Tuam, and more recently of no fixed abode appeared in custody before Galway Circuit Criminal Court.
Galway bay fm reports Shane Byrne pleaded guilty to recklessly causing serious harm to Shane Grogan, near the Fairgreen, Tuam, on August 5th last year.
Judge Keenan Johnson directed the preparation of a probation report and a victim impact report.
He then remanded the accused in custody to appear before the court again on July 2nd for sentence.
