Tuam council seeks decentralisation of services
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Tuam is seeking the decentralisation of a number of Galway County Council services to the council’s sub office in the town.
The proposal was put forward by Cllr Paul O’Grady at this week’s town board meeting.
Cllr Paul O’Grady said that the council should be at least decentralising a section of the car tax office to the new Tuam offices of Galway County Council at High Street.
He said that Tuam is so central to people in such a wide area of North Galway that it is an ideal location for a branch office of the motor tax service.
He was supported by Cllr Pat O’Hora who said that there should also be a facility for the lodging of planning applications in Tuam.
