TUAM CLOSER TO SECURING NATURAL GAS SERVICES

Tuam may be closer to getting natural Gas but it will be sometime yet before this is confirmed by the national regulator of services.

Director of Services Frank Gilmore says judging by the tone of a letter sent to the town engineer it seems Bord Gais are “keen” to connect to the town.

But in reply to a question from Cllr Tom Reilly he said he had no idea yet if the connection would be to general households or business premises or both.

Meanwhile, in advance for the county final between Tuam’s senior team and Salthill Cllr Larry Bane says he’s “frustrated” at the lack of progresss regarding the refurbishment of Tuam Stadium.

He’s calling for an urgent meeting of the Tuam Stadium Committee and the County GAA Board to see if some progress can be made on upgrading the stadium.
