TROLLEY LIST TREBLES AT UHG OVER 5 YEARS

The group representing nurses and midwives says the number of patients waiting on trolleys at UHG has trebled since 2006.

Over 3,000 people had to wait on a trolley after being admitted to UHG over the first half of this year.

A comparison of figures from the past five years carried out by the INMO, shows that’s a 35 per cent increase on the same time last year, and almost a 200 %jump on the 2006 figure.

Almost 400 patients had to wait on a trolley at Portiuncula in the first six months of this year.

That’s a drop of 234 on the same period last year, but a 30 % jump on the 2006 figure.
