Trial opens for sexual abuse of child in city
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The trial of a 40-year-old man charged with the sexual abuse of a child ten years ago has opened before a jury at Galway Circuit Criminal Court.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denies the sexual assault of the school girl on dates between September and October, 2004, at a house in the city.
He also denies two further counts of sexual assault on the child on dates between May and August, 2006.
A jury of six men and six women was empanelled to hear evidence in the trial which is expected to last three days.
