TRIAL OF WITHHOLDING INFORMATION IN OUGHTERARD KILLING INVESTIGATION EXPECTED TO CONCLUDE TODAY

The trial of a man charged with withholding information during a Garda investigation into the killing last year of Oughterard publican and teacher, John Kenny, has reached the final stages and is expected to conclude later today (Nov 30).

Former Galway bus depot security guard, 38 year old Florin Fitzpatrick, a Romanian National, denies a charge of withholding information from Gardaí, which might have been of assistance in the apprehension of people involved in Mr Kenny’s death on September 25th last year.

The eleven-day trial was locked in legal argument for much of last week,but resumed before a jury of six men and six women last Friday afternoon.
