TRIAL FOR FORGERY AND THEFT AT BRIARHILL BUSINESS

A 42-year-old mature student is to stand trial charged with the theft of thousands of euro from a Galway saddlery company over a two-year period.

Fiona White, of Shrule Grove, Shrule faces 42 charges relating to the forgery of cheques ranging from €600 to €2,150 from Olympic Saddlery, Briarhill Business Park, between 2009 and 2011.

She is further charged with 40 counts of stealing between €500 and €2000 in cash from the company during the same period.

Inspector Sean Glynn said the DPP had directed the woman be sent forward for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court.
