TRAIN TRAVEL TIMES BETWEEN GALWAY AND DUBLIN TO BE REDUCED

Galway commuters may soon enjoy reduced train journey times between Dublin and the city.

Iarnród Éireann is proposing to bring train travel times down to two hours or less between all major regional cities.

The plan is subject to government funding approval of an additonal €175 million.

The current journey time on the intercity route between Galway and the capital is two hours and 35 minutes.
