TRADE UNIONS WRITE TO GALWAY HOSPITALS’ MANAGER ABOUT HEALTH CUTS

Unions representing staff at University Hospital Galway have written to the HSE General Manager about planned closures at Merlin Park Hospital.

Last week, Galway Bay fm News revealed that some units at Merlin Park Hospital are to close by September so that the HSE can stay within its budget this year.

Consultants at the hospital are claiming however that the entire hospital campus will close, but this has been disputed by HSE officials.
