TOUGHER MEASURES PLANNED FOR TUAM BOYRACERS

Boy Racers in the Tuam area may be facing a crackdown by Gardai a meeting of the town’s joint policing committee has been told.
Councillor Tom Reilly raised the issue and Inspector Fran Nicholson told him that a recent Garda operation in the Roscommon area was very successful.
Councillor Tom Reilly said he was told that boy racers could get a computer chip put into a conventional car to make it a modified model for as little as 150 Euro.
Inspector Fran Nicholson said there had been a very successful operation to deal with boy racers in Roscommon and he hoped to have a similar one in Tuam in the next month or two.
