Topform lives up to its name!
Topform – based in Gort – took the SFA Award for Small Business Exporter of the Year Award at a Gala ceremony in Dublin recently.
Management were presented with their award Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton and SFA Chairman AJ Noonan, at what was the eleventh year of the SFA National Small Business Awards, held in the RDS.
Topform an indigenous Irish company trading for over 38 years has managed to grow their business successfully within the domestic and export markets.
It accredits the popularity of its worktops to a consistent emphasis on creating new and innovative worktop solutions.
Topform marketing manager Aislin Le Provost says diversification of its product range has been key to the success of Topform.
Initially a manufacturer of laminate worktops, it now presents itself as a “Creative Worktop Solutions” company, manufacturing worktops for both domestic and export markets. In fact Topform produces some of Ireland’s best known kitchen worktops, including TopShape, TopShape Custom, TopPlus and TopWood.
The firm’s export business grew substantially in 2014, with an increase of 13% and it is expected to increase by double digits again this year.
Its main export activity is supplying tops to the holiday home and leisure industry in the UK as well as exporting worktops to Australia.
“By developing your export business, not only can you tap in to significant new market opportunities but you can spread your business risk and enable you to achieve greater economies of scale, explained MD Paul Glynn.
“Having researched our target markets, whilst being absolutely clear on our market-entry proposition, this determined our success and allowed us to differentiate our products and services from local competition. The local customer relationships also help to cement a sustainable export business,” he added.
