Top-class artists Luan and Clive join forces for two Galway shows
Two of Ireland’s finest performers, Luan Parle and Clive Barnes, who are both highly regarded for their individual music careers, have joined forces in recent years to tour the US, Europe and Ireland.
They will be in Galway at the weekend, to play two shows – the first in Carrabane’s Village Theatre this Saturday, March 24, followed by the City’s Black Gate Cultural Centre on Sunday, March 25.Luan Parle, who holds Meteor and Tatler awards, has had numerous hits and accolades in a music career that has seen its fair share of ups and downs. Her top 10 hit single Ghost spent three months in the Irish charts and was the most played Irish single of 2008.
Luan signed her first record deal at just 12 years of age and, as an adult, has written and recorded with some of the world’s most successful songwriters and producers including Grammy award winning Bill Bottrell (Sheryl Crowe, Michael Jackson, Prince, Travelling Wilburys, Elton John) and Billy Steinberg (Madonna, Roy Orbison, Cyndi Lauper, The Pretenders, Whitney Houston, The Bangles, Celine Dion).
During her time with Elton John’s management company, Twenty First Artists, she opened for Elton three nights at the London Hammersmith Apollo. She was also signed to Sony Records but like as with so many talented singers, this deal ultimately fell through.
