Top billing for U21’s

A Festival of football will take place at Tuam Stadium on Sunday, with the eagerly awaited U-21 county final between St. James’and Tuam Stars, along with the two county intermediate football semi-finals, down for decision.

Undoubtedly, the showpiece of the triple header is the clash of St. James and Tuam Stars. The city boys are chasing an historic U-21 A county title – after defeating reigning champions Salthill / Knocknacarra to claim their first ever West Board A crown earlier in the year – while Tuam Stars are hoping to capture their first title at this grade since 2001.

According to Tuam Stars manager Mickey Byrne, forward Shane Gaffney is still out with a cruciate injury, but, other than that, he will have the same squad of players who accounted for Killererin 2-9 to 2-5 in the North Board final back in May to select from.
