Top acts in Kinvara gig for Tr—caire

The Kinvara Area Music collective (KAM) is presenting a top-class concert this Saturday night for a very worthy cause.

Declan O’Rourke, De Dannan members Eleanor Shanley, Alec Finn, Johnny ‘Ringo’ MacDonagh, Derek Hickey and Brian McGrath, sean-nós singer Róisín Elsafty, The Quay Singers, and more are lining out to support Trócaire’s Somalia appeal for relief of the forgotten famine in East Africa.

However bad life may be for us in Ireland at the moment, things are much worse for people who have no food in a country torn apart by violence, the organisers point out.

All the acts are donating their time and talent to this great cause and, with generous sponsorship of raffle prizes by local businesses, the organisers can promise a great night’s entertainment.

The concert will be held in Kinvara Community Centre and the doors will open at 8pm. Tickets costing €10 in advance are available Kinvara Pharmacy, The Healing Harvest, Green’s Pub and Connolly’s Pub. Alternatively, they can be bought on the door for €12.
