Tommy Tiernan embarking on tour of islands

Published

on

Tommy Tiernan will visit the Galway islands of Inis Oírr, Inis Mór and Inisbofin this summer as part of his World Tour of Ireland’s offshore islands.

Like a man on a witness protection programme or a nun on the run, Tommy takes to the islands for his next world tour, drawn like an old Christian monk to where wildness and wind are king, in search of late nights, good fiddlers, seafood chowder and a reasonably priced Bed & Breakfast.

Tommy brings his decidedly Irish way of looking at the world to these most uniquely Irish of places. From Tory Island off the coast of Donegal to Bere Island off Cork, he’ll be up and down the Atlantic like a seagull. August will be spent in the most wonderful of ways, ferry boating, amp lugging, bicycle hiring, yarn spinning, porter drinking, set dancing and kissing the missus on the beach as the sun comes up. Or at least that’s the promise!

He’s in Áras Éanna, Inis Oírr on August 22, Halla Ronáin, Inis Mór on August 23 and Inishbofin Community Centre on August 25.

Tickets priced €25.00 are now on sale from www.ticketmaster.ie and the venues.
