Timber Tramps storm the city

Lively folk rock band the Timber Tramps are poised to take over the town this week, as they follow an appearance on the Breathnach Quay stage at the Docks on Wednesday with a series of street performances throughout the remainder of the Volvo Ocean Race stopover festivities.
The group have come a long way since they were offered a pint and asked to bring their instruments inside when busking as a three-piece outside of Tigh Neachtain several years ago.
Singer and guitarist Orlagh De Bhaldraithe had toured on three continents as a soloist when she ran into the band playing in Taylor’s Bar in Dominick Street after a gig in Headford one night, but she modestly dismisses the suggestion that her addition to the group was something of a coup.
