THREE STILL HELD IN CONNECTION WITH BALLINASLOE WOMANS MURDER

Three people remain in custody this morning [23/9] in connection with the murder of Ballinasloe woman, Marie Kilmartin, 15 years ago.

The 35 year old disappeared in Portlaoise in December of 1993 and her body was discovered six months later in a bog drain just over the border in Co Offaly.

Daughter of Rose and the late Fred Kilmartin, the well-known Ford dealers in Ballinasloe, Marie was strangled, according to Gardaí.

Three people were arrested in the Portlaoise area yesterday in connection with the murder of the mother 0f one.
