Three contenders for retiring Turloughmore Councillor’s seat
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Three people have already expressed interest in running in the next local election for the seat which will be vacated by Fine Gael County Councillor, Jarlath McDonagh.
Last week, Councillor McDonagh announced he will not be contesting the next local election and is retiring from politics.
Jarlath McDonagh is a councillor for the Oranmore electoral area and also served as a senator during his 30 year history with the Fine Gael party.
He says he has been approached by three interested parties, however stresses his son and daughters will not be entering politics.
