THREAT OF CLOSURE HANGS OVER 29 GALWAY GARDA STATIONS

Twenty nine one-man rural Garda stations in Galway are facing a serious threat of being shut down.

They’re among 236 such stations around the country which will form the focus of a new national review of bases according to the Irish Independent.

They include stations in Milltown, Barnaderg, Recess, Letterfrack, Maam, Woodford, Eyrecourt, Inverin, Leitir Mor, Ardrahan, Ahascragh, Kilconnell and Menlough among others.
