Thousands of Galway students collecting Leaving Cert results
Galway bay fm newsroom – Thousands of Leaving Cert students are now receiving their students from schools across Galway.
Results are available at schools from now, while students can also get them online from midday.
Three thousand of the 55 thousand candidates sat their Leaving cert at schools across the city and county this year.
Nationally, the number of candidates sitting the exams fell to its lowest figure in six years – but a higher number of students than ever before took Higher Level Maths.
Meanwhile, the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy is urging students who are disappointed with their results to talk to someone and seek advice.
The body says pupils need to reflect on their results and take time to consider their college options.
NUI Galway has also opened its advice hotline for students, parents and guardians from this morning until the end of September – 091 493999.
