THOUSANDS ATTEND REMOVAL OF NUIG STUDENT

Thousands of people turned out for the removal of Galway student Andrew Dolan last evening.

The removal took place from the NUIG student’s home to St Mary’s Church in Carrick on Shannon, County Leitrim.

The 20 year old died after being assaulted in Mullingar before Christmas.

The President of NUI Galway is also to travel to Leitrim later this morning to attend the funeral service which takes place at midday.

Dr.James Browne will be accompanied by the Dean of chaplaincy services at NUIG Fr.Patrick O’ Donohue.

Andrew Dolan will then be laid to rest at Ardcarne Cemetry.
