THIRD MAN CHARGED OVER GANGLAND CRACKDOWN IN GALWAY

A 20 year old city man has been remanded in custody in connection with Operation Foolscap, the Garda crackdown on gangland crime in the region.

Mark Dowling of 58 Castlepark, Ballybane, appeared before Judge Mary Fahy at a special sitting of Galway District Court at 9 o’clock last night.

He is one of 12 men arrested in total under the Operation.

Dowling is charged with helping the gang to commit serious offences, namely the possession of cannabis with intent to supply under the Misuse of Drugs Act between 23 July 2009 and the first of June this year.
