The Young Folk will be playing songs from their first album The Little Battle and new material from their planned second album when they visit Kelly’s The Loft Venue this Saturday night, April 25.

The Young Folk are Anthony Furey (guitar, vocals), Tony McLaughlin (bass, mandolin, and vocals), Paul Butler (keyboards, vocals), Alex Borwick (trombone, mandolin, banjo, guitar), and Patrick Hopkins (drums, vocals).

They have been described by Hot Press magazine  as ‘serious challengers for the area populated by the likes of Fleet Foxes, Mumford and Sons and The Low Anthem’ while Maverick magazine awarded the The Little Battle a four-star review calling the Young Folk “ quite simply, one of the most promising young bands to come out of Ireland in several decades”.

The band who have appeared at festivals from Westport to Cambridge and count President Higgins among their fans, have just returned from a tour of the UK and Holland and will be joining Roesy and Declan O’Rourke in May for a Round Robin tour of Ireland.  Miriam Donohue will be special guest for The Loft Venue.
