The Last Return is back as part of national tour

Druid’ s production of Sonya Kelly’s comic drama The Last Return returns to Galway’s Town Hall Theatre from next Wednesday to Saturday, March 8-11 as part of a national tour.

Directed by Sara Joyce, The Last Return is a  comedy about conflict, peace and the pursuit of territory at any cost.

One final night. One last chance. Five people queue for a ticket to the hottest show in town. All they must do is wait in line. But life is never that simple – or certainly not on this occasion.

The cast is Anna Healy as Ticket Person Bosco Hogan as Newspaper Man, Aidan Moriarty as Military Man, Rebecca O’Mara as Umbrella Woman and Naima Swaleh as Woman in Pink.

The Last Return premiered at Druid’s Mick Lally Theatre during last July’s Galway International Arts Festival, then toured to Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it won a Scotsman Fringe First Award. It was staged at the Gate Theatre in October as part of Dublin Theatre Festival.

The play earned an array of five-star ratings while the Guardian praised its ‘pitch black comic mayhem’ and the New York Times described it as ‘wonderful’.
