The Jim McKee Band to play city concert

The Jim McKee Band will play Monroe’s Live this Sunday, January 15.

The band is made up of Keith Horan, drums; Ryan Gil, lead guitar/vocals; Eddie Dee, bass guitar; Beaz, harmonica; and Jim McKee, vocals, guitar and harmonica.

The Jim McKee Band are fast making an impact on Ireland’s live original music scene with their performances of original upbeat folk/rock music and a few covers thrown in for good measure.

They have played support to Mary Coughlan, Lissie, Mark Lanehan, Mick Flannery and to Ocean Colour Scene in the Olympia, Dublin. They also toured with Ocean Colour Scene on their 10- night Irish tour.

Their songs will feature on the soundtrack for Songs for Amy, a film which is being shot in Kinvara, and they are currently working on a new album, which is due for release in early 2012.

The leader of the group, Jim McKee is a singer, songwriter, musician, and a visual artist who is originally from Cookstown, Co Tyrone and now lives in Kinvara.

The Jim McKee band will be in Monroe’s Backstage Bar in Galway this Sunday, January 15. Doors are at 10pm and tickets are €5. Tickets available from the venue, or by email, monroeslivevenue@gmail.com
