TEXT SERVICE COULD HAVE MASSIVE SAVINGS AT UHG

The HSE West is being offered a service for free, which would reduce non-attendance for outpatient appointments at University Hospital Galway, resulting in savings.

Independent local election candidate for the city’s West Ward, A.J Cahill, says he is offering the HSE a text message service to alert people about their upcoming appointments, 24 hours in advance.

He claims such a service would result in hundreds of people not missing appointments, resulting in substantial cost savings for the HSE.
