Temperatures in Galway set to soar to 26°C during heatwave
Galway City Tribune – Galway is poised to enjoy a second sizzle of the Summer over the coming days with high pressure set to zoom temperatures into the high 20s by early next week.
All of the main weather forecasters including Met Éireann, the BBC, Norwegian and ACCU are unanimous in their prediction of a sweltering week to come – and this weekend won’t be bad either.
It’s all down to a massive area of high pressure that’s nudging up over us from the South Atlantic and the good news from the forecasters is that the ‘Azores High’ could stick around for ‘the foreseeable future’.
Met Éireann are predicting ‘dry, calm and settled conditions’ for the weekend with temperatures reaching into the low or even mid-20s by this Sunday.
“These values should climb further into next week with possible heatwave conditions setting in.
“Next week, the conditions will be very warm – or even hot – with sunshine prevailing. The warmest weather of the year is possibly on the way through this extended settled spell,” Met Éireann state.
All in all, it’s shaping up to being a very promising Summer following the good early start to the season that brought us three weeks of really good weather from May 23 to June 13.
