Teenage girl dies in Connemara road crash

A 15-year-old girl has died following a road crash in Rossaveal last night.

The teenager was walking with a friend near Terry’s pub in Rossaveal at around a quarter to 10 last night when a car collided with her.

The teenager who is believed to be from the local area was taken to University Hospital Galway where she was pronounced dead late last night.

The other male pedestrian and male driver of the car were uninjured.

The road is now closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions are in place.
