TEACHERS TO BEGIN MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMME IN GALWAY

The first dedicated mental health promotion programme for pupils in Galway will be rolled out in the city and county in the coming weeks.

Primary school teachers in Galway will take part in the training course which aims to help pupils aged 5 to 7 cope with mental health issues.

It teaches children ways to cope with problems and helps them identify and talk about their feelings.

The Galway Education Centre is offering training on September 28th, September 30th and October 14th.

The Tuam Education Centre is offering training on November 16th.
