TD FRANK FAHEY REJECTS CLAIMS ABOUT PENSION
Date Published: 17-May-2010
Galway West T.D Frank Fahey is rejecting suggestions that Brian Cowen did him a favour as Minister for Finance by increasing his pension entitlements.
A change to the law in 2007 enabled Deputy Fahey to improve his pension entitlement by 24 thousand euro a year.
The pension scheme that Deputy Fahey was included in at the time, meant he was required to have served 3 years as a minister to qualify for a ministerial pension.
This was when the general requirement had been reduced to two years.
Deputy Fahey is rejecting suggestions that he lobbied Brian Cowen in any way.
