TAXI PROTEST AMBUSHES TRANSPORT MINISTERS CITY VISIT

The Transport Minister was ambushed by a taxi driver protest at the opening of the new outbound bus lane on the Dublin Road in the city.
Noel Dempsey was here to cut the ribbon on the new bus lane which is part of the ongoing upgrading of the Moneenageisha roundabout at 2 o’clock.
Minister Dempsey was forced to make his speech indoors at a nearby hotel after the group of about 20 angry taxi drivers heckled and booed him.
