TAOISEACH WELCOMES 300 JOBS FOR GALWAY

The Taoiseach says the three hundred jobs announced today for Galway is a real vote of confidence in the local workforce here.

EA games is to expand its European base at Parkmore West in the city, and create a multilingual international customer support centre.

Today’s announcement will bring to 700 the number of people EA employ here.

EA games will now provide multilingual international customer support and services for its major games titles such as FIFA and Medal of Honour.

CEO of the US multinational Peter Moore says the large talent pool in Galway and the quality of service were among the reasons for this major expansion.

Meanwhile the IDA says Galway is now competing exceptionally well as a popular hub for the digital industry.
