TAOISEACH SAYS UHG UNABLE TO MANAGE BUDGET

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny says University Hospital Galway cannot manage its affairs well.

The comments follow the publication of the latest performance report from the HSE, which shows UHG has overrun its budget by 8 and a half million euro up to the end of May.

The financial deficits of all hospitals nationally stand at 120 million euro.

New restrictions on the hiring of replacement staff and agency staff are being implemented.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm News in Athenry, where he earlier announced 145 new jobs with C&F Green Energy, Enda Kenny, said hospitals cannot continuing overspending.
