Taoiseach says Gort to Tuam motorway to begin next year

Galway bay fm newsroom -An Taoiseach says it’s the Government’s intention that work on the Gort to Tuam motorway will begin next year.

Speaking at the Irish Haulier of the Year Awards last night, Enda Kenny said it’s a vital piece of infrastructure along the west coast.

However earlier this year, Minister for Transport, Leo Varadkar said HE had hoped that the first sod would be turned on the project before the end of THIS year.

A letter of guarantee was issued for the Gort to Tuam motorway in July in a bid to attract overseas investors, with the Government committing 20 million euro to the Public Private Partnership.
