TAOISEACH DEFENDS ADDITION OF GALLAGHER TO NORTH WEST ELECTION TICKET
Date Published: 11-May-2009
The Taoiseach has said that voters in the North West constituency will have a good ticket to consider in the European elections.
Brian Cowen was speaking following the decision of former Junior Minister Pat “The Cope” Gallagher to run on June 5th, a move that has sparked an internal party row within Fianna Fail.
Former senator Paschal Mooney was already chosen at a selection convention and he has expressed his anger at Mr Gallagher’s late addition to the ticket, because they are both from the same constituency.
But Brian Cowen says they’re both worthy candidates.
