Tanaiste and former president to visit city this afternoon

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore and former president Mary Robinson will visit the city this afternoon to attend a conference at NUI Galway.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eamon Gilmore, will open the International Symposium on Women’s Leadership, Peace and Sustainable Livelihoods in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Region.
Keynote speakers will include UN Special envoy Mary Robinson, US Ambassador for Global women’s issues, Melanne Verveer, and African Union envoy Bineta Diop.
The conference will take place at the Quadrangle at NUIG at 3.30 this afternoon.
