Tammy turns her back on TV

After eleven years as one of the most familiar faces of TG4’s news, journalist Tammy O’Leary is turning her back on television and returning to college to do her HDip.

Tammy had started with the then-TnaG at its inception in 1996 as a young twenty-something year old straight out of college.

“At the time I felt very lucky to fall into a job with TG4. I always had an interest in current affairs so I always harboured a notion of going into television or radio.”

At the same time Tammy also had a big interest in becoming a teacher. “I’ve always liked languages and always had thoughts of becoming a teacher but when I got offered the job with TG4 I couldn’t turn it down.”
