Galway Bay fm newsroom – Attempts to secure a city centre location for tourist buses are at an ‘advanced stage’.

City businesses, CIE and council officials are holding talks on the plan which involves land at the back of Ceannt station.

Most tourist buses are using spaces at the Cathedral, which could pose a problem for people with limited mobility who want to visit the city centre.

Speaking on Galway Talks, City Councillor Neil McNeilis says there is a directive that such buses pulling into Eyre Square will be asked to move on.

He’s now appealing for city officials to relax this prohibition.
